# LiftLock > LiftLock is an iPhone workout timer built on Apple's Screen Time. It ties the lock to the set instead of the session: every app locks when a set starts, comes back the moment the set ends, and locks again on its own when the rest countdown reaches 0:00 — even if LiftLock is closed and you're mid-scroll. App blockers work in blocks of time. LiftLock works in sets. - Website: https://tryliftlock.com/ - Platform: iPhone, iOS 17.0 or later. Requires Screen Time permission. - Status: on the App Store as "LiftLock: Rest Timer & Blocker", free. https://apps.apple.com/app/id6804157973 - Publisher: TASKR LLC - Languages: 35 (en, ar, ca, cs, da, de, el, es, es-419, fi, fr, fr-CA, he, hi, hr, hu, id, it, ja, ko, ms, nb, nl, pl, pt-BR, pt-PT, ro, ru, sk, sv, th, tr, uk, vi, zh-Hans, zh-Hant) ## The loop You plan a workout once — exercises, sets, rest time. From START, the lock follows the plan: 1. A set starts. Every app locks. You tap DONE when the set is finished. 2. Rest starts. Your apps come back for the length of your rest, and the countdown runs in the Dynamic Island. 3. Rest hits 0:00. Every app locks again on its own, wherever you are, and the phone buzzes. LiftLock does not have to be open for this. That third step is the part that makes it work. Nothing to remember, nothing to re-open. ## How it differs from other apps - **Rest timers** count down but can't close Instagram. - **App blockers** (Screen Time schedules, Opal, Freedom, one Sec) block in blocks of time — an hour, or the whole workout — and hand everything back when the block ends. - **LiftLock** blocks in sets. The unit is the set, not the session, so the phone is genuinely yours during rest and genuinely gone during work. ## What it does not do It never reads which apps you use or for how long. It only turns Apple's shield on and off around your sets. Workouts stay on the device unless you turn on optional backup. ## Files - [Full page content](https://tryliftlock.com/llms-full.txt): every section and FAQ answer from the site, in plain text. - [Homepage](https://tryliftlock.com/): the site itself, with structured data (SoftwareApplication, FAQPage, HowTo).
